Metin2 P Servers are fun – but like any online game, there are risks. This guide shows you how to protect your account, spot fraudulent servers, and stay safe while playing.
Safe Client Downloads
The first and most important step: always download the client only from the official website of the server you want to join. Manipulated clients circulate on Metin2 P Server forums and unofficial Discord servers – they can contain keyloggers, trojans, or spyware that steal your passwords.
Scan every downloaded file with your antivirus program before running it. Windows Defender is sufficient for this. If a scan reports issues, do not install the client – no matter how appealing the server sounds.
Avoid links shared by other players in game chat, from unofficial Discord servers, or found via Google searches like "Metin2 client download". The only safe download path is the official server website, which you can find directly in the toplist listing description.
Account Security

The most common scams in the Metin2 P Server scene: fake giveaways ("click here for 1M Yang"), phishing links that look like the server website, fake item sellers who take PayPal payments and deliver nothing, and hack programs that promise to generate Yang or items.

Pay-to-Win warning: Some servers sell items that cannot be earned in-game and that completely destroy balance. This is legal, but unfair. If fair competition matters to you, check the shop and read player reviews before starting.
How to Recognize a Trustworthy Server
A trustworthy Metin2 P Server has a few clear signs: there is an imprint or contact page with an identifiable operator, an active Discord with regular admin messages, and the server rules are publicly viewable.
Check the reviews and comments on the server's toplist page. Many negative reviews about rollbacks, data loss, or scam accusations against admins are a clear warning sign.
Legitimate servers never play games with player data. If a server regularly does rollbacks, "loses" player data, or simply deletes accounts in disputes, that's a sign of poor professionalism.
